During the earthquake ,not only the structure itself will produce inertia force but also the backfill soil will induce dynamic earth pressure and dynamic water pressure. If the backfill soil liquefies ,that will produce a new lateral pressure of liquefaction and make the structure more unstable. This paper tries to discuss the sliding stability of different caisson type structures by earthquake.
