Research on Development Characteristic of Transportation
System of China Urban Agglomeration

Abstract: Aimed at the rapid process of China urbanization, according to the impact and demand
of development of China urban agglomeration in / T w elfth Five-year0 period, using the theories
and methods of system analysis, transportation planning, urban planning, demand analysis and
adaptive analysis, authors analyzed the development characteristics of transportation system of
China urban agglomeration comprehensively from three aspects of travel demand characteristic,
netw ork structure and transportation patterns. The overall development thinking and
development strategies w hich w ere appropriate to development of transportation system of China
urban agglomeration w ere proposed. Research results show that transportation system of China
urban agglomeration still need perfecting and the development thinking should focus
