Ltd. ，Shenyang 110006，Liaoning，China) Abstract: In the national standards of“GB 6654—1996 Steel Plates for Pressure Vessels”，it is defined that the steel plate shall be delivered with the theoretical weight and the nominal thickness plus the additional value of the thickness shall be the theoreti- cal thickness for calculating the weight. During the contract signing，if the issue caused by the additional value of thickness is not considered by both the sides，the dispute from the measuring and pricing for the additional value of thickness shall occur during the execution of the contract concerned. Therefore，an actual case is applied herein to discuss this problem，and then，it is con- sidered that the added material cost for the increase of the weight of steel plate caused by the additional value of thickness shall be paid by the client，however，the relevant fabrication and installation shall not be measured and priced.
