Ea r t h Science F r ont ier s ,2007 , 14( 6) :290298 Abstract : L eucogranit e i s a st rong p eraluminou s fel sic int ru sion (wit h SiO2 ≥72 %) linked to anat exi s of conti nent al cru st . It i s rich in aluminium ( Al O ≥14 %) , alkali element s (Na O + K O ～8. 5 %) and enriched in 2 3 2 2 Rb , and deplet ed in Th , Ba , Sr . Their ∑R EE cont ent s ( mo stly between 40 ×10 - 6 - 120 ×10 - 6 ) are lower t han t ho se of ot her granit es and show slightly L R EE enriched p att ern s and a negative Eu anomaly . The SrN d PbO i sotopic compo sition s of leucogranit es suggest t hat t hey were derived f rom continent al cru st by p artial melting . L eucogranit es are commonly found in deformed met ap elit e/ met agraywacke sequences t hat have t hru st over basement , during cru st al t hickening a ssociat ed wit h continent al colli sion s.
