Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) Ross is Monicas brother. He has a Ph.D. in paleontology. First in the series, he worked for a museum; his ex-wife divorced him because she decided to be a lesbian; and now he is madly in love with Rachel, but not daring to tell her his feelings. Rachel Green (Jeniffer Aniston) Rachel is Monica’s high school classmate and now her roommate. She used to be a spoilt girl, and didn’t have to work. But after she ran away from her wedding, she has to break up with her family and lives independently. Now she is working in Central Perk Coffer House as a waitress, and she has no idea that Monica’s elder brother Ross is in love with her. Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) Monica is Ross’ younger sister, an unsuccessful child compared to Ross in their parents’ eyes. She is working in a restaurant as a cook, and sharing the apartment with Rachel. She used to be very fat but has become slimmer now. Because of her mother, she likes clean and tidy in an extreme way. Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) Chandler was Ross’ college mates, and now he is working in an agency. He is humorous and likes to make jokes on other people, but his jokes sometimes make people feel very uncomfortable, so not many girls can get along with him. Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) Joey is Chandler’s roommate. He considers himself a actor but very unsuccessful, so he has to receive Chandler’s help very often. He likes chasing pretty girls and can always work his way out. In that way, he has so many girlfriends that he usually forgets their names. Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) Phoebe is a vegetarian, and probably the weirdest one of the six. She had an unfortunate childhood: her father dumped her and her mother; her mother committed suicide and her stepfather got into prison when she was 12. She has a twin sister who hasn’t spoken with her for years. But she is always happy and kind-hearted, now she is working as a masseuse and lives with her grandmother. Episode 2, Season 1 Rosss ex-wi
