Appendix B provides diverse examples of text exemplars and student samples Appendix C provides informational, narrative, argumentative writing samples. There are two samples from WA state writing assessment * * Before we jump into the main content, we want to highlight that our transition to the CCSS in ELA will not be just dropping off documents! Instead, we are working with these statewide partners to provide multiple differentiated levels of support (read slide) The webinar series this year has provided the very birds-eye view, looking at the big picture, sending the message of a new way of doing business. * One of our hopes is that we will start to see instructional supports that can be used in a comprehensive literacy system-- * Development plan for 3 Year Transition (incl. OSPI/ESD/SI/district eyes + vetting by multiple stakeholders) The plan is the basic agreement between the OSPI+LLC and the 295 districts. * * For professional learning opportunities and resources, we will be housing them on OSPI’s CCSS website. The state literacy groups are working to come up with the best resources for ELA, working to choose the best resources to showcase. * We also highly encourage you to contact your ESD Literacy Leads for their offerings, resources and opportunities. The LLC is a cadre made up of representatives from all nine ESDs, the internal OSPI literacy team (which includes Teaching and Learning, Assessment, and School Improvement) and district partners as well. We are working collaboratively to provide as much strong support that is common across the state, but also is differentiated to your particular context.
