* * This slide shows the recent outbreaks of poliomyelitis occured in Hispaniola, Madagaska and Philippines. Surprisingly, these outbreaks did not result from the transmission of wild type poliovirus like previous outbreaks, but due to the circulation of vaccine derived polioviruses (cVDPVs). The number of virologically comfirmed polio cases of each outbreak is also shown here. We can easily find that cVDPVs were derived from both Sabin1 and Sabin2 polio vaccine.
