IMDS SUPPLIER TRAINING PARTICIPANT GUIDE 3 ANALYSE To determine which component within the airbag module contains Hexavalent Chrome (Chromium, ion CR6+) follow these steps: Return to the Component data sheet click by clicking on the “View” button at the top of the page. (Glasses icon). Note: when wanting to return to the component data sheet, it is tempting to select ‘Menu’ from the left hand options. If you select menu, you will loose the component breakdown for the airbag module and will need to re-start your search. Search the component tree and try to identify which component contains Hexavalent Chrome (Chromium ion, CR6). IMDS SUPPLIER TRAINING PARTICIPANT GUIDE 1 How to create a material in IMDS This is a steel material in IMDS reported according to the German DIN-standard. The material name is 44SMn28 which indicates that the material includes sulphur and manganese. To the left of the name is also the specific material symbol (green circles). The material is also built up of the included substances (indicated by the blue triangles). Among the substances are sulphur and manganese.
