Hadron Spectroscopy and Charmonium Decays

Abstract Recent results from BES and CLEOc experiments on hadron spectroscopy and charmonium decays
using J/ , ′ and ′′ data samples collected in e+e− annihilation are reviewed, including the study of the
scalar particles in J/ radiative and hadronic decays, as well as in ′ and χc0 hadronic decays, and the study
of the “ρπ puzzle” in J/ , ′ , and ′′ decays. The new results on the light scalars and the new information
on the hadronic decays of the ortho-charmonium states shed light on the understanding of QCD.
