Present pictures of different places. Step 1 Enjoy the video about Australia. Step 2 Introduce information about Australia. Step 3 Ask Ss to look at the pictures on 81 and answer the questions in Activity 1. Then let Ss listen and check the answers. Step 4 Ask Ss to listen again and complete the sentences in Activity 2. Step 5 Ask Ss to read the conversation and answer some questions. Step 6 Activity 3. Complete the table. Step 7 Complete Activity 4. Step 8 Ask Ss to read Everyday English and work out the meaning from the dialogue. Then ask Ss to choose one of the expressions in Everyday English and make a conversation. Step 9 Ask Ss to work in pairs. Make a conversation talking about a place. What is it? Where is it? What are the special things about it? Step 10 Before listening to Pronunciation and Speaking, explain intonation. Step 11 1. Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud. They can try with different intonation patterns. 2. Listen again and repeat.
