IUCN = The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.(自然和自然資源的保育) Box 3.2 The IUCN red list system Extinct (Ex): A taxon is extinct when there is no reasonable doubt that the last individual has died. A taxon is presumed extinct when exhaustive surveys in known and expected habitat, at appropriate times (diurnal, seasonal, annual) to the taxon’s life cycle and life form, throughout its historic range have failed to record an individual. Box 3.2 The IUCN red list system Extinct in the wild (EW): A taxon is extinct in the wild when it is known only to survive in cultivation, in captivity, or as a naturalized population well outside the past range, and there is no reasonable doubt that the last individual in the wild has dies, as outlined under EX.
