厦门大学学位论文原创性声明 兹呈交的学位论文，是本人在导师指导下独立完成的 研究成果。本人在论文写作中参考的其他个人或集体的研 究成果，均在文中以明确方式标明。本人依法享有和承担 由此论文而产生的权利和责任。 声明人（签名）： 年 月 日 论文 提 要 乔治· 格什温（George Gershwin，1898-1937）是美国现代音乐史 上极有影响力的一位音乐家。《一个美国人在巴黎》创作于 1928 年， 是乔治· 格什温交响爵士乐的一部代表性作品。国内对格什温的研究， 多为论述生平和总体创作特色的传记式著作，以及对他三部代表作《蓝 色狂想曲》、《 F 大调钢琴协奏曲》和《一个美国人在巴黎》的音乐主 题的简略分析，较少专注于对某一部作品的音乐学分析。本文试图通过 对《一个美国人在巴黎》的音乐学分析，在揭示十九世纪末二十世纪初 美国的社会历史文化环境，以及乔治· 格什温的成长和创作经历对这部 作品的影响基础上，从作品的音乐本体分析出发，去考察这部作品的音 乐内涵。全文分为三个部分： 第一部分是关于社会历史文化背景和乔治· 格什温创作道路的概 述，从格什温所处的美国历史时期概况、十九世纪至二十世纪20 年代 美国专业音乐的发展概略、十九世纪中叶至二十世纪20 年代美国通俗 音乐的发展概略以及格什温的成长和创作道路四个方面，探讨了影响乔 治· 格什温创作风格的诸多因素。 第二部分是《一个美国人在巴黎》的音乐本体分析。从作品的创作 过程出发，通过描绘《一个美国人在巴黎》的交响诗意象为本体分析做 铺垫，最后分五个段落，从主题、旋律、节奏、调性、音响、情绪、音 乐形象、作曲技法等对这部作品进行本体分析。 第三部分是从社会和历史的角度考察《一个美国人在巴黎》的音乐 内涵。从乔治· 格什温的巴黎之行、这部作品的社会历史背景、作品体 现的思想感情和社会内涵以及由这部作品所引发的关于音乐形式的哲 学思考四部分入手来论述。 关键词：爵士交响乐；节奏；主题 Abstract George Gershwin(1898-1937)is the most important representative figure in the American modern music creation field. Created in 1928, the tone poem An American in Paris” was a symbolic work in his Jazz Symphonic works. The studies on George Gershwin are commonly descriptions of his life experience and overall looks on his creation nationally, while very few have concentrated on any of his work. On the basis of exposing the various influences on this work, such as the influences of the American social culture and historical environment in the late nineteenth century and the early twentieth century, and of his life experiences with his creation career, this dissertation tries to probe into the connotation of this work by the way of musicological analysis on the tone poem “An American in Paris”. This dissertation consists of three parts.
