abstract Joe Hisaishi is a famous Japanese composer and pianist. Most of his music works are film music, which is famous for its sweet melody and elegant harmony. There are numerous films with his score, especially the numerous works created by close cooperation with Hayao Miyazakis Ghibli animation studio for decades, which have moved the world and been praised by the world. His music can become the leader of contemporary music, mainly reflected in his works integrating the factors and characteristics of traditional and modern music: traditional harmony and composition technology, modern and modern national mode harmony and catchy melody, different superimposed chords, as well as pop music rhythm and Pitch. His works combine the essence of eastern and western music, adapt to the aesthetic of contemporary people, and reflect the music connotation of the integration of nationality and the world. This paper takes encore, a piano album revised and adapted by Joe Hisaishi in 2002, as the research object, and explores the secret of his success in commercial film and television music and composition from the four directions of melody, chord, harmony and music aesthetics.
