This paper systematically reviews the theoretical research on the effectiveness of monetary policy in an open economy, applies the VAR model to the regression analysis of China’s monetary policy operational objectives and macroeconomic variables, analyzes the effects of policies through pulse response analysis, and finally obtains the conclusion that policy effectiveness and independence are weakened in China. Combined with the current overall framework of Chinas monetary policy and its operating environment, this paper specifically analyzes the internal and external factors affecting effectiveness, and further proposes policy recommendations on this basis.
