She also has a romantic dream just like the beautiful rose, but the traditions of her family and the society deprive off her dream. Faulkner explains that the rose stands for the respect out of people and himself for Emily. Faulkner wishes that Emily has a perfect life and love, but the tragic is doomed when she comes to the world. so he wants to use the title to express his sympathy and his dislike for the society.
