The Study on the Ecotourism Strategies of Yangmingshan National Park Abstract The environment has been destroyed because of the fast development of tourism. Under the concept of the sustainable tourism and the reduction of recreation impact, the ecotourism has been gradually promoted. At the beginning of ecotourism development in Taiwan, because of the insufficient development model and strategy, the quality in not better enough. In order to avoid the environment impact and destruction, ecotourism development should follow the definite strategy to eliminate the unsuitable development and activity. At the beginning of a national park ’ s development, although there is no apparent strategy for ecotourism development, both the hardware and software measures of a national park can be the invisible strategy for ecotourism development. The study, takes Yangmingshan National Park for an object, analyzes its development terms and strategy, and surveys its ecotourism activity. Then summarize the development strategy and procedure into six items: the plentiful resource, resource survey and recreation development, build up the hardware, set up the software, offer recreational activities, and sustained study, to be the referable model for ecotourism development in Taiwan.
