My Hometown ——HengYang 班级 姓名 My hometown is HengYang, this is a beautiful and historic city. HengYang, a wonderful 2,000-year-old city in Hunan province, Central China. located south of the lofty and beautiful Heng Mountains and on the middle reaches of the blue Xiangjiang River. HengYang city has been called wild City since ancient times, as flocks of wild geese stay here for winter after a long journey from the north. Huiyan Peak is the first peak of the 72 peaks of Heng Mountain.In ancient times,people thought that the wild geese stopped here when they flew to the south in autumn and stay here until next spring to return to the north. ShiGu Academy was originally the place where Li Kuan,a scholar in the Tang Dynasty,built a studio,and later on in the Song Dynasty,became an academy,attracting many famous scholars and followers.The original academy was destroyed in 1944 because of Japanese bombings.Today the ShiGu Academy,the ShiGu Part and some other buildings are rebuilt on the base of ruins. Heng Mountain is one of China’s Five Sacred Mountains., which is a famous Buddhist Holy Land. The mountain is more than 2,000m high, and has 72 peaks in all. Each year there are many people go there to pray their family and their friends. It is also a tourist attraction, many people climb Heng Mountain to enjoy the fascinating scenery and watch the sunrise. Hengyang scenic spots still has a lot of, for example，The river mouth bird island，Cai Lun bamboo sea. Specialty of Hengyang have running snails，zhangfei wine，Hu Zi wine ，wild City four specialty.
