PROCESS FEATURES PROCESS FEATURES TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PRODUCTION OF BUTYL RUBBER (IIR) AND HALOBUTYL RUBBER (HIIR) 丁基橡胶（IIR ）和卤化丁基橡胶（HIIR ）生产技术 Butyl rubber (IIR) is an elastomeric copolymer of isobutyle ne with small amou nts of isopre ne, offered in a range of polymer grades. Haloge nati ng the isopre ne groups in IIR produces a rubber which could co-cure with elastomers such as NR, BR and SBR while preserving the essential properties of IIR. The commercial halobutyl rubbers, bromobutyl (BIIR) and chlorobutyl (CIIR), are more easily vulca ni zed tha n IIR. The major application area is the tire industry, mainly, as IIR, for innertubes and tire curi ng bladders and, as HIIR, for inner lin ers.
