Module 3:Interpersonal relationship-friendship Reading: Roy’s story 市一中王志荣 Good morning, ladies and gentleman. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. The content of my lesson is selected from Module3 of optional Book6. My topic is the reading part of Module 3: Roy’s story. I will cover the following aspects: analysis of the teaching material, teaching aims, teaching important and difficult points, teaching theories, teaching methods and studying methods, teaching aids, teaching procedures, blackboard design and reflection report. I. Analysis of the teaching material 1. Analysis of the teaching content This lesson is a reading passage. It plays a very important part in the English teaching of the module. Through the story between the author Daniel and his friend Roy, it shows the problem of them to cultivate students’ attitudes towards the friendship and how to keep friends. By learning this lesson, Ss can improve their reading ability and learn more about friendship. Therefore, this passage is good for students. 2. Analysis of the students The Ss’ English ability is a little poor, but some of them are active. Most students can understand the passage and can answer the questions. However, many of them are poor in speaking and may have difficulty in showing their opinions. Hence, I will design some activities for them to practise their oral English. 3. Teaching aims As we all know, reading belongs to the input during the process of the language learning. The input has a great effect on output, such as speaking and writing. According to the new curriculum and syllabus, after studying the teaching material and analyzing the rule of children’s growing of mind. I think the teaching aims are the following. Knowledge aim: Be able to learn some new words, phrases and sentences while reading the passage. Ability aim: Be able to familiar with the reading skills of skimming and scanning by getting the general idea and detailed information. Emo
