The theoretical essence is emphasizing the combination of the diagnosis of western medicine and the clinical thinking of Chinese medicine, the combination of the treatment based on differentiation of disease and the treatment according to syndrome differentiation, the combination of the whole regulation and dynamic diagnosis and treatment. In the therapy of CHD, we should treat the acute symptoms first in emergency case, when these being relieved, treat its fundamental cause. So both the root cause and the symptoms are well considered. Heart- yang deficiency, heart-yin deficiency, deficiency of heart and spleen, qi stagnation, heart blood stasis, phlegm damp, phlegm- heat retention in chest are the common differential syndromes of CHD. It is the advantage of Chinese medicine that treating the diseases according to the different pathological changes.
