PAGE 14 The Liberalism and Egalitarianism Reflected in Western Film Abstract With the rapid development of western films, it is obvious to all in the world. Its development is not only in its film and television technology, people pay more and more attention to the cultural values revealed by western films in each theme. There has been a certain difference between China and the West in culture, which is also clearly reflected in the film. Chinese films tend to pursue traditional values with Chinese characteristics, such as patriotism, self-improvement, truth, solidarity and mutual assistance, while western films focus on reflecting the individualism, liberalism, egalitarianism and other cultural values pursued by the masses. This thesis aims to analyze western films from the perspective of egalitarianism and liberalism. This paper discusses the characteristics of egalitarianism and liberalism in western films, and the two values reflected in different aspects in different films, so as to better understand what is western liberalism and egalitarianism while understanding western films.
