Show the students several English newspapers and ask: Have you ever read any English newspapers? When you read a newspaper, how can you find out the most important information quickly? 2. Tell the students: When you read a newspaper, you should skim the headlines first. They’ll tell you the topic of each article. 3. Tell the students: Newspaper headlines use the present tense. Some words are left out to save space, including a/an/the, do/does/did, the verb be and and/but/or Task 2：Practice Encourage students to read the headlines in Part A and just pay attention to the words in bold.
