Unit 4 Where is my schoolbag?
Section B (2a-2c)
Teaching aims
Students are able to talk about the things in room, such as tape, bookcase, schoolbag, clock, desk, model plane.
Students can identify where things are and use “on, in, under” correctly.
Students are able to build up good habits to keep room tidy and clean.
Key points and difficult:
Talk about where things are.
Single and plural forms of nouns.
Teaching methods
Student-centered teaching method, communicative teaching method, tasked-based teaching method.
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 greeting and lead-in (Let’s play)
Give a self-introduction and warming up, play a game of “in, on, under, by”.
Step 2 Revision (Let’s review)
Use a game to review new words. I show pictures and students stand up and say words quickly.
Show another picture, find out the things and where they are.
Step 3 While reading (Let’s read)
Show two pictures of rooms, one is tidy, one is not tidy, ask students “Is this room tidy? Which room do you like? Why?”. Tell students a tidy room makes us feel relaxing and comfortable, so we should always keep our rooms tidy.
Introduce Gina and Kate to students, guess which one is tidy?
Ask students divide the passage into 3 parts, and ask students to find out what each part is talking about.
Finish the task of 2c, complete the chart about the things Kate and Gina have and where they are. Then check answers. Tell students “A good environment breeds good habits. Good habits make a better life.”
Listen to the tape and read after it, then invite students to show.
Step 4 Post- reading (Let’s practice)
Do exercise, fill in the blanks with given words.
Step 5 Post- reading (Let’s write)
Watch a video about teacher’s bedroom. Then ask students to write about their things in room in 7 sentences. Then show in class.
Step 6 Homework
Clean your room and keep your room tidy everyday.
Make a short video to introduce things in your room.
