Learning to work with numbers requires a good deal of repetition – playing games is a good way to make this repetition fun and motivating! This game will be very effective for small groups of students to play after they have been introduced to the hundred chart and counting to one hundred. Before students play the game, introduce the worksheet and equipment to the students and look at them together. Help them to become familiar with the format and rules of the game. Try to make learning experiences and game playing as fun as possible. The aim of the game is not to demand or test the students’ knowledge, but rather to encourage and assist them in playing the game. To prepare: 1. Choose from the blank or filled hundred snowmen. 2. Copy the hundred chart puzzle pieces page onto different colored papers, so each puzzle has a different shade (easy to see which pieces belong to each set). Cut chart into random sections to create the puzzle pieces - make the pieces complicated or simple, depending on the ability of your students.
