This subject extends the study of macroeconomics to encompass a comprehensive model of an open economy such as Australia. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between real and financial sectors of the Australian economy and the impact of various internal and external shocks to the domestic economy and its financial markets. The mission of this course is: Understand the operation of the open macroeconomy and the problems associated with achieving simultaneous external and internal balance.
