He had a foreign maid. She served him for three years. This guy treated her well. He gave her good pay. He gave her a nice room to live in. He was sure he was a good boss. On her final day,he took her to the airport. As she was about to leave,he asked, Did I treat you well? To his dismay,the maid said,No. You never once said thank you to me. This guy thought she was ungrateful. In reality,this guy is a kind person. He is intelligent and well-educated. But he seldom says thank you. Tragically,soon after,this guy suffered a stroke. Now,he can never speak again. He lost the joy of saying thank you to others. Saying thank you is a gift. It costs nothing to say. It means everything to hear. There is a lesson to be learned here. Never miss a chance to say thank you. Showing appreciation is better than giving gold. Just saying thank you is not enough. People say thank you every day. You must really mean it. A thank you must come from the heart. You must say it sincerely. You must use body language. Look at the person. Smile. Nod your head. There are many other ways to say thank you. Just saying one single sentence is not enough. You should say at least three sentences in a row to show your appreciation. Example one:If a stranger opens a door for you,say: Thank you. How nice of you! You are so thoughtful! Or you can say: Thanks. Youre nice. Youre very polite. Example two:After someone gives you a ride,say: Thanks for the ride. You are a good driver. I owe you one. I really appreciate it. Youve helped me a lot. Youve saved me a lot of trouble. Take care. Drive safely. Catch you tomorrow. Example three:When someone gives you a present like a watch or a pen, you can say: Thank you so much. Its wonderful. Its what I always wanted. Its perf
