Revision history Revision Date Description 02 April 2022 Documentation bug fixes 01 March 2020 First release of this document for IDPA 2.5 Product description The Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) combines multiple hardware and software solutions into a single product. The IDPA model DP4400 is a hyper-converged, 2U system that a user can install and configure onsite. Other models of IDPA (DP5300, DP5800, DP8300, and DP8800) are shipped as a complete unit, with all hardware components racked and cabled in the factory. Dell EMC Customer Support completes the installation and initial configuration. The solution includes an Avamar server as the backup server node with optional NDMP Accelerators, a Data Domain system as the protection storage node, Compute nodes for virtual components and software, a networking switch for improved setup speed, and Cloud Disaster Recovery. The system software for each component is installed and configured to the greatest extent possible before the appliance is shipped. A backup application, protection storage, Reporting and Analytics, Search, Cloud Disaster Recovery, System Manager, and the Appliance Configuration Manager (ACM) come embedded in the appliance.
