Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine tend to believe emotions are closely related to our organs. The relations
exist between joy and
heart, anger and liver, thinking and spleen, sorrow and lung, fear and
kidney.
A Stanford University researcher carried out an experiment which
proved directly how anger did harm to our health. He injected some
gases from an angry person into a mouse, and the mouse died after a
couple of minutes. This experiment showed how poisonous the gas was
when we were angry. Chinese doctors also traced some people and tried
to investigate how their kidney activated when people were frightened
by outside environment. The result indeed proved that fears would do
great harm to our kidney.-
2 This part is used to let students have a rough knowledge about emotions and diseases.
2 Before class, students are required to collect some successful cases in which doctors of Chinese medicine tried
to cure diseases by adjusting patients’ emotions.
