Here I want to talk about my ideas after a brief scanning of it. First, like many other countries, American literature is also concerned with religious reasons. As the early English literature absorbed the thoughts of Christ and Federation, early American was dominated by Puritan. Honestly, forget about the negative sides, the English Puritans did open a window for American writing. Besides, partly owning to immature literature, which still inspired and directed people, the scattered colonial America begun neighboring, flourishing, hold a strong relationship with each other. Second, I think that a nation’s literature degree would be tied firmly to the development level. Thus a solidaric and independent nation provides a good environment for the writers. At the beginning, America relied on England politically and economically, therefore the spiritual life was influenced by Enlightenment at a large scale, which struggled between colonialism and liberty. However, after America claimed to be independent, the era of American literature truly came. Numerous writers emerged with highly decorated passion, like Benjamin Flanklin, who made a fantastic contribution to America, and Thomas Paine, Jefferson and the other. The writers created plentiful styles and contents of writing, they woke people up, getting rid of the colonial shadow, endeavored to build a prosperous country, as Noah Webster once declared, “America must be as independent in literature as she is in politics, as famous for the arts as for arms.” Along the history of American literature, I am fond of the 19 th century, thi
