Recent studies have shown that sel -esteem plays a crucial role in a person ’s overall happiness
and success. Sel -esteem is your opinion of yourself. It is how you view your worth as a person
and whether you believe you are capable and valuable.
Research has shown that people with healthy sel -esteem have an easier time handling stress,
accepting feedback and criticism, and bouncing back from failures. They also tend to have better
relationships and higher levels of happiness.
On the other hand, people with low sel -esteem tend to struggle with confidence and are more
likely to experience anxiety and depression. They may have di iculty speaking up for themselves
and pursuing their goals, and they may be more likely to fall into unhealthy relationships.
So how can you improve your sel -esteem? One important step is to focus on your strengths and
accomplishments. Write down your achievements, no matter how small they may seem, and
remind yourself of them whenever you are feeling low.
It is also important to challenge negative thought patterns. When you notice yoursel thinking
negative thoughts about yourself, try to reframe them into something more positive. For example,
if you catch yourself thinking, “I will never be good enough,”try changing it to, “I am capable
and I have what it takes to succeed.”
Finally, don ’t be afraid to seek support from friends, family, or a mental health professional.
