English and Chinese are two completely different languages, and the grammar and semantic roles of sentences are also different. In order to help Chinese children better understand and use English, it is necessary to study the differences and similarities of semantic roles in English and Chinese sentences. This study analyzes the semantic roles of sentences in primary childrens English books and compares them with those of Chinese sentences. The results show that there are similarities and differences in semantic roles between English and Chinese sentences. This research provides a theoretical basis for the teaching of primary childrens English and helps teachers design targeted teaching content.
