Teaching Important and Difficult Points Catch the language features and simulate. Learning Procedure Stages Activities Intentions Warming-up (1min) T: Do you like travelling? In the special period, for safety, we have few chances to travel nationally or internationally. But today, I will show you a magic gift: A flight ticket from Zhongshan Air Company. What’s the destination of this flight ticket? Ss: Peru. To arouse Ss’ interests in travelling Peru. Pre-reading Step1 Lead-in for Text1 (2mins) T: But, before the journey, we have to do something. Do we know anything about Peru? Ss: No. T: How can we find some information we need? Ss: Internet... T: I borrowed a book from a library-encyclopedia. What is an encyclopedia? It tells a wide range of information: especially location, language, culture, history and so on. Let’s open the book. Step2 Reading for Text1(5mins) Ss read and find the relevant information about location, geographical areas, history and language. Step3 Lead-in for Text2 (2mins) T: But this information is not enough for our travel. After arriving Peru, may we buy some brochures. What is a brochure? What information can we get from a brochure? It tells travel information: especially routes, weather, time, accommodation, transport, activities and so on. Step4 Fast-Reading for Text2 (1min) Look through text2 and tell what type this text is: encyclopedia or brochure. Step5 Careful-Reading for Text2 (16mins) Read and complete the table.
