Dangui Middle School by Liu Yu Teaching goals: goals 1)Words: talent,magician,beautifully,role,winner,prize,poor,everybody,give etc. 2)Phrases:have....in common,all kinds of, be up to,play a role,make up, for example,take...seriously,get more and more popular,look for,the best singers and so on. Ability goals: Ss learn the reading skill of using the first or last sentence of each paragraph. 3. Emotion goals: Ss should hold on their dreams, and study hard to make dreams come true. Keys and Difficulties: master phrases and get useful information quickly. Teaching steps Ss look at photos of stars and know talent shows. Lead-in Ss watch a show and know characteristics of talent shows. Divide Ss into two groups. T:Today is your show. T shows teaching goals. Presentation T check answers of task 1, then Ss have a game. Prediction T:please predict the main idea of the passage according to the title and picture. Then , T checks answers and introduces reading skills. on task 2 Ss do fast reading and finish task2 1)Match main ideas with each paragraph. 2)Underline all the superlatives in the passage. Then T teaches Ss read them. on task3 Ss do careful reading and finish task3 1)Para1:Ss read together and answer questions. 2)Para2:Ss read in silence and write T or F on task4 Ss discuss in groups and answer questions. Summary Ss choose phrases to fill in the blanks and review the main idea of this article. goals T shows a video and encourages Ss to hold on their dreams.
