Lesson 1: Vocabulary Introduction - Introduce sports-related vocabulary such as basketball, football, tennis, swimming, running, etc. - Use flashcards and pictures to help students understand and remember the new words. - Practice pronunciation and spelling of these words through repetition and sentence formation. - Engage students in a short discussion to share their favorite sports. Lesson 2: Describing Sports - Read and analyze a text about different sports activities. - Introduce vocabulary related to sports equipment, rules, positions, etc. - Teach the use of adjectives to describe sports, e.g. exciting, fast-paced, competitive, etc. - Engage students in pair or group discussions to describe their favorite sports. - Conduct a class survey to find out the most popular sports among the students. Lesson 3: Reading Comprehension - Provide students with a short reading text about a famous sports figure. - Teach reading strategies such as skimming and scanning to help students understand the text. - Ask comprehension questions to check understanding. - Conduct a class discussion about the importance of sports in our lives. - Ask students to write a short passage about their favorite sports figure. Lesson 4: Listening Activity - Play an audio clip about a sports event, e.g. a football match or a swimming competition. - Teach listening skills such as predicting, note-taking, and identifying main ideas. - Pause the audio at certain points to ask comprehension questions. - Discuss the audio clip as a class, focusing on the excitement and outcome of the event. - Divide students into pairs and ask them to create a dialogue based on the audio clip.
