In the interview, the host led to the theme through three questions. Lisa, the interview, put forward her own suggestions on these three issues based on her own experience. Finally, Lisa quoted a famous saying of an American writer, to tell new students to have a positive attitude towards life. Teaching objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: ●Knowledge objectives: 1. Understand the stylistic features of interview. 2. Read the general idea of the text, obtain the main information of the interview. ●Ability objectives: 1. Analyse problems, put forward suggestions. 2. Learn how to write a speech. ●Emotional objective: Get a further understanding of high school life and face with difficulties in high school bravely. Teaching important and difficult points Important points: 1. To guide Ss to read the interview and obtain relevant suggestions they may face on the first day at senior high. 2. To guide Ss to write a speech. Difficult points: 1. To guide Ss to make personal learning plans according to the difficulties and suggestions. 2. To cultivate Ss correct attitude towards learning and life. Teaching methods In this lesson, task-based method, communicative approach and cooperation-study method are adopted in order to improve students’ reading skills and their oral English.
