Overthelasttenyears，twomillionchildrenhavebeenkilledinconflict.Overonemillionhavebeenorphaned，oversixmillionhavebeenseriouslyinjuredorpermanentlydisabledandovertenmillionhavebeenleftwithseriouspsychologicaltrauma.

Since1998therehavebeenarmedconflictsinvolvingChildSoldiersinatleast36countries.However，thetraumaticscarsleftonchildrenarejustoneofavastaftermathofpostwarproblems:refugees，foodshortagesandmourningforlostrelatives.FormerChildSoldiersmayatbesthavetheirneedsforgottenandatworstbeblamedbytheircommunitiesforwhathappened.

Asyouwouldexpect，SOSChildrenworkinmanycountriestohelpChildSoldiersandotherchildrenscarredbyconflict.AswellasourcurrentfocusprojectsforUgandanChildSoldiersandchildreninPalestine，weareworkingaroundtheworldwithchildrenwhoseliveswillneverbethesame.OthercurrentChildSoldierprojectsincluderehabilitationofChildSoldiersinSudanwhereSOSisprovidingcounselling，family-tracing，educationandsupportforformerChildSoldiers.

WearealsoabletolookbackfromlongexperienceattheissueofChildSoldiers.Tenyears

afterthemassacreinRwanda，weareworkingtorebuildlives.Ninemembersofourcommunityweremurderedinthegenocidethere.Another，whowasforcedtobecomeachildsoldierandjointheconflict，onlytolosealegtoaland-mine，isinterviewedonourRwandapage.
