Itisunbelievableallthatchildrenknownowadays；onecanscarcelysaywhattheydont
know.Theynolongerbelievetheoldstorythatthestorkbroughtthemtofatherandmotheroutof
thewellorthemillpondwhentheywerelittle，andyetitisreallytrue.
Buthowdidthelittleonesgetdownintothemillpondorthewell？Ah，noteveryone

airyisitthataflycancarryitoff，as，ofcourse，abeecan，whentheyalternatelycometoseek
thesweetnessoftheflower.Ifthelittleairchildliesintheirway，theydonotbrushitaside.That
theywouldnthavethehearttodo！Theytakeitandlayitundertheleafofawaterlilyinthe
sunshine，andfromthereitcrawlsandcreepsintothewater，whereitsleepsandgrowsuntilitis
largeenoughforthestorktoseeandbringtoahumanfamilythathasbeenlongingforasweet
littlechild.Butwhetheritbecomessweetornotdependsonwhetherithasdrunkpurecleanwater
orhasswallowedmudandduckweed
