2/4/2025Dr.XiaohuaWu6TreatmentOptionOverviewFiverandomizedphaseIIItrialshaveshownanoverallsurvivaladvantageforcisplatin-basedtherapygivenconcurrentlywithradiationtherapy,[1-6]while1trialexaminingthisregimendemonstratednobenefit.[7]Theriskofdeathfromcervicalcancerwasdecreasedby30%to50%byconcurrentchemoradiation.Basedontheseresults,strongconsiderationshouldbegiventotheincorporationofconcurrentcisplatin-basedchemotherapywithradiationtherapyinwomenwhorequireradiationtherapyfortreatmentofcervicalcancer.[1-8]
