唐朝时，有一位诗人叫贺知章。
IntheTangDynasty,therewasapoetnamedHeZhizhang.
他的诗文以绝句见长，风格清新潇洒，语言自然质朴。
Hispoetryexcelsinquatrains,characterizedbyafreshandelegantstyleandnatural,simplelanguage.
可惜他的作品大多散佚，现存仅20首，其中《咏柳》和《回乡偶书》最为脍炙人口。

年轻时，贺知章离开家乡前往长安做官，一晃便是几十年。
Inhisyouth,HeZhizhanglefthishometowntoserveasanofficialinChangan,anddecadespassedintheblinkofaneye.
晚年，他奉诏告老还乡。
Inhislateryears,hewassummonedtoretireandreturntohishometown.?
那是一个二月的早春，贺知章坐船沿着官河回乡，两岸的景色让他感到无比亲切。
ItwasearlyFebruary,andHeZhizhangtraveledbyboatalongtheofficialriver.Thesceneryonbothbanksfilledhimwithanimmensesenseoffamiliarity.
当船靠近家乡时，他看到河岸边一棵高大的柳树。
Astheboatapproachedhishometown,hesawatallwillowtreebytheriverbank.
柳树的枝条又细又长，像绿色的丝带一样垂下来，随风轻轻摆动。
Thebranchesofthewillowwereslenderandlong,hangingdownlikegreenribbons,gentlyswayinginthebreeze.
树叶刚刚长出来，嫩嫩的，绿绿的，看起来非常精致。
Theleaveshadjustsprouted,tenderandgreen,lookingverydelicate.
“这么精致的柳叶，是谁裁剪出来的呢？”贺知章好奇地想。
Whocouldhavetrimmedsuchdelicatewillowleaves?HeZhizhangwonderedcuriously.
突然，一阵温暖的春风轻轻吹过，拂动了他的衣袖，也吹动了柳树的枝条。
Suddenly,awarmspringbreezeblewgently,flutteringhissleevesandthewillowbranches.
他眼前一亮，笑着说：“一定是二月的春风，它有一把神奇的剪刀，把柳叶裁剪得这么漂亮！”
Hiseyeslitup,andhesmiled,saying,ItmustbethespringbreezeofFebruary,withitsmagicalpairofscissors,thathastrimmedthewillowleavessobeautifully!
于是，他写下了这首诗：
Thus,hewrotethispoem:
《咏柳》
碧玉妆成一树高，万条垂下绿丝绦。
不知细叶谁裁出，二月春风似剪刀。
TheWillow
Emeraldfashionedintoatalltree，
Hungwithmyriadsilkbraidsofgreen.
Whotailoredthedaintyleaves?
Thesnippingwindofearlyspring.
《咏柳》是唐诗中的经典之作，被誉为千百年来最好的咏柳诗之一。
