Oneday,ayounggirlnamedLilymovedintotheneighborhood.Lilywasacuriousandfriendlychild,butshehadbeenthroughadifficulttimeasshewasrecoveringfromaseriousillnessandwasoftensadandlonely.

Oneafternoon,LilywaswalkingpastMrs.Thompsonshouseandwasattractedbythebeautifulgarden.ShepeckedoverthefenceandsawMrs.Thompsontendingtotheflowers.Mrs.ThompsonnoticedLilyandinvitedherin.Lilywashesitantatfirstbutthenwalkedinwithashysmile.

Mrs.Thompsonshowedheraroundthegardenandtoldheraboutthedifferentplantsandtheiruses.ShepickedafewherbsandmadeacupofteaforLily,sayingitwasgoodforherhealth.

Lilydranktheteaandfeltawarmthandcomfortshehadntfeltinalongtime.

Asthedayspassed,Lilybecameafrequentvisitortothegarden.Mrs.Thompsontaughtherhowtoplantseeds,watertheplants,andtakescareofthem.
