ABSTRACT

SincetheIndustrialRevolution,carbondioxideemissionsintotheatmosphereand

othergreenhousegaseshavebeenincreasingyearbyyear,andthegreenhouseeffect

oftheatmospherehasalsoincreased,whichtriggersaseriesofsevereclimate

problems,arousingtheconcernofallcountries.WrittenbyAdamRAron,The

ClimateCrisis-Science,Impacts,Policy,Psychology,Justice,SocialMovementshas

practicalguidingsignificancebecauseitintroducesthecausesandeffectsofthe

climatecrisis,pointingoutthatpeoplehavegonefromsuspiciontoawarenessofthe

seriousnessoftheproblem,andhowtotakeactiontodealwithit.

BasedonChapterEight,thisreportattemptstoanalyzethetranslationdifficulties

relatedtotextualcohesionandcoherenceencounteredbythetranslator,anddescribes

thetranslationprocessfromacognitiveperspective,aswellascohesivedevicesand

coherenteffect,soastosolvethedifficultiesinunderstandingtheoriginaltext.Inthe

processoftranslation,thetranslatorshouldanalyzetheinformationstructuresand

logicalrelationsoftheoriginaltext,thenassistthetargetreadersinconstructingthe

relevantknowledgeframework(thecognitiveenvironment)insteadofonlyfocusing

ontheaccurateconversionofinformation.Moreimportantly,thetranslatoraimsto

dealwiththelogicalrelationshipbetweendifferentchunksofinformationandbuild

appropriateflowsofinformationsoastomakethetranslatedtextascoherentas

possible.Thus,theoptimalrelevancebetweenthesourcetextandthetargetreaders

canbecreatedandtheexpectedgoalofeffectivecommunicationcanbeachieved.

Thisreporthopesthatthetranslationpracticecanprovidesomesuggestionsand

inspirationfortextsofthesametype.
