1.Generaldescription

TheTJA1043isahigh-speedCANtransceiverthatprovidesaninterfacebetweena

ControllerAreaNetwork(CAN)protocolcontrollerandthephysicaltwo-wireCANbus.

Thetransceiverisdesignedforhigh-speed(upto1Mbit/s)CANapplicationsinthe

automotiveindustry,providingdifferentialtransmitandreceivecapabilityto(a

microcontrollerwith)aCANprotocolcontroller.

TheTJA1043isastepupfromtheTJA1041Ahigh-speedCANtransceiver.Itoffers

improvedElectroMagneticCompatibility(EMC)andElectroMagneticDischarge(ESD)

performance,verylowpowerconsumption,andpassivebehaviorwhenthesupplyvoltage

isturnedoff.Advancedfeaturesinclude:

•Low-powermanagementcontrolsthepowersupplythroughoutthenodewhile

supportinglocalandremotewake-upwithwake-upsourcerecognition

•Severalprotectionanddiagnosticfunctionsincludingbuslineshort-circuitdetection

andbatteryconnectiondetection

•Canbeinterfaceddirectlytomicrocontrollerswithsupplyvoltagesfrom3Vto5V

ThesefeaturesmaketheTJA1043theidealchoiceforhighspeedCANnetworks

containingnodesthatneedtobeavailablealltimes,evenwhentheinternalVIOandVCC

suppliesareswitchedoff.
