一、教材分析：Welcome部分，主要是通过大量的图画和通过所设计的问题,让同学们分析该单元的相关话题及相关知识，了解本单元的大体内容。该部分会激发同学们学习的兴趣。Reading部分是本单元学习的重点和难点。借助于阅读策略来帮助学生掌握该类型文章的特征。再通过快速阅读、精读等不同方法,提高学生英语阅读能力.

二、学情分析:学生对与人类未能解释的东西存在着好奇心,尤其是男生特别感兴趣的东西，而且文章是以新闻故事的形式呈现的.文章的整个内容好把握，在本课中要使学生掌握标题的特色,并掌握新闻类文章的阅读方法。

三、教学设计的结构及设计理由:本文是新闻故事类文章,因此通过阅读该文，让学生掌握文章标题的特征以及新闻类文章的特征，掌握“倒三角形的特色，为以后遇到主旨大意、标题类文章作准备。另在阅读中设计了快速阅读、精读细读等阅读方法，以培养学生的阅读能力.
