Bothartandarchitecturehaveahistoryofages.Allformsandwaysofexpressingthebeautifulthingshavebeenexplored.Inthecaseofarchitecture,manybuildingsdesignedinthepasthaveprovenbeautifulandservedtheirpurposes.Governmentsandcompaniescouldsavemillionsofdollarsbycopyingthearchitectureofbuildingsfromthepast.Therearestillmanydesignsforbuildingsmadebyfamousarchitectsthatwereneverrealized.Besides,somepeoplefindmodernarchitectureugly.Sowhyshouldwemakeaninvestmentinarchitecturefordesigningnewbuildings?

Thesameholdsformodernart,bothpaintingsandstatues.Manystoreroomscontainenougharttodecorateallpublicbuildingsandotherpublicplaces.Thereisnoneedtocreatemoreart,andaswithmodernarchitecture,manypeoplefindnewartdifficulttounderstandorappreciate.

Giventhesefacts,whyarearchitectsandartistsaskedtocreatenewartworks?Theanswershavetodowiththefunctionofartinsocietytoday.Firstofall,thefunctionofartistodecoratethings.Artworksmakeourlivingenvironmentmorebeautiful.Anotherfunctionofartisenrichingreallife.Arthelpspeopletolearntothinkcreatively.Inartthingsarenotalwayswhattheyseemtobe.Veryoftenyoucanhardlytellwhatthefunnyartobjectsare.Peopleneedsuchcreativemoments.Finally,artisoftenseenasawaytoinstructtheaudience.Statuesofheroesfromthepastremindusofourhistory.Paintingsandotherartobjectscanalsohelpusrealizewhatgoalsweshouldsetforourselves.
