awhitetabletop.They’ddrawtheprincipaloutlinebutalsooutlinetheshapeofeach

pieceofglasstobeusedandindicateitscolor.Nowinthewindowitselfthepiecesof

glasswouldbeheldtogetherbystripsoflead.So…Um…Sointhedrawingtheartists

wouldalsoindicatethelocationoftheleadstrips.Thenyoucouldputabigpieceof

glassonthetabletopand…andseethedesignrightthroughitanduseitto…toguide

thecuttingoftheglassintosmallerpieces.

Professor:Well,um…leadisstrongandflexiblesoit’sidealforjoiningpiecesof

glasscutindifferentshapesandsizes.Um…Butuptothe15thcenturytheleadstrips

alsohelpedcreatethedesign.Theywereworkedintothewindowas…aspartofthe

composition.
