LiBai’sloveofreadingandtravellingfromanearlyagecontributedtohisromanticstyle.Hestartedstudyingtheclassicswhenhewasonlyfiveyearsold,andwasreadingancientphilosophersofdifferentschoolsattheageoften,includingConfucianismandTaoism.Byreadingbooksofallkinds,fromlegendstohistoricalstories,hefamiliarizedhimselfwithclassicalChineseculture,andmoreimportantly,heacquiredthewisdomofpreviousgenerations.

Drivenbyaburningdesireforadventureandtravel,LiBailefthomeandstartedtotravelaroundinhisearlytwenties.Hisfootstepscoveredalmostthewholecountry.Duringhistravels,hevisitedfamousmountainsandgreatrivers,encounteringdifferentcustomsandpractices.Thesetravellingexperiencesalsonourishedhisloveofnatureandinspiredhimtowritenumerouspoemsintheromanticstyle.
