Introduction
Whatisthis?
PokémonHackedisaROMpatch/toolthatcontainsasetoffunctionsthateitheradd,
complementorsimplyallowaccesstoseveralfeaturesinordertoextendthe
possibilitiesforROMhackerswithfewornoASMskills.
Infact,thisprojectisaimingtobecomearevisedversionofthePokémonFireRed
baseenginewiththegamedesignersinmind,sotheymayexpanduponthissolid
tformtheirowngames.
Features
Firstofall,thisROMhasbeencleanedofallscriptsandevents,leavingonlythe
functionscriptsandthewarpevents.Allmapshavebeenleftintact,however,inorder
todebugsomefeatures.
ThisROMfeaturesseveraladdedThumbroutinestoallowaccesstosomeoftheraw
GBAdatasuchasahardwareTimeranddirectreadingofthekeypad.Thosefunctions
havebeenaddedtotheSpecialcommandssothatyoucanusethemwithoutknowing
anyASM.
Also,someroutinesfromthecoregamehavebeenchangedinordertoexpandthe
resourcesavailable.Forinstance,thereisnowthecapabilitytouseover60000
differentOverworldSprites,withaccessto4600differentpalettes,aswellasthe
capabilitytochangeandaddscriptssetineverybehaviorbyte.
Lastly,inordertoaddflexibilitytothegamey,asetoffunctionshavebeencreated
sothatyoucanchangealmostanythinginwildandtrainerbatt.Includedarethe
functionstochangeontherunoneofthewilddatasets,smoothlevelgapsween
trainers(orincreasethemifyouwant)andcreate“swarm”and“roaminglegendary”
events.
