depletionordrainingofemotionalresources,fromwhichcynicismstem

andcynicismreferstotheindifferenceordistantattitudeofwork,and

reducedprofessionalefficacyreferstothelackofsatisfactionwith

past/presentexpectations.[5]Occupationalburnoutistypicallyand

particularlyfoundwithinthehumanserviceprofessions.Suchjobsthat

naturallyexperiencehighamountsofoccupationalburnoutinclude:social

workers,nurses,teachers,lawyers,physicians,andofficers.[6]

Thereasonwhyburnoutissoprevalentinthehumanserviceprofessions

isdueinparttothehighstressenvironment,emotionalinvolvedness,

andoutcomesthatmightbetoftheeffortexertedbytheworking

individual.

Theindividualswhoaremostvulnerabletooccupationalburnoutareones

whoarestronglymotivated,dedicated,andinvolvedintheworkinwhich
