theexploitationofthetakingthefollowingrecommendedactions;

a)Realisingthat90%oftheminesintheCongoarerunbyartisanalorsmall-scale

miners,thatareownedorcontrolledbylocalmilitia

i)Lackformaltradingregulationsorworkerprotection

b)Recognisingthebenefitthatinvestmentandcapitalfromprivatemultinationals

companiescanprovidefortheCongo,

c)Recommendsestablishinganinternationalframeworkofduediligence,

governance,andtraceabilitytargetingspecificmineralsintheCongo

i)KeymineralsincludeTin,Gold,WolframminedforTungsten,andColtan

minedforTantalum,

d)Inviteskeyinternationalmineralcompaniesandlocalcivilsocietyorganizations

tocooperatewiththeUN,

e)Establishesschemethat:

i)Identifiestradersandmines

ii)CertifiesMiningSites

iii)Activelytagsbagsatthesourceofproduction

f)UrgestheUNGAtosupportthismeasureandcalluponallnationstoimplement

thisprocess,similartotheDecember2001Resolution55/56infavorofthe

KimberleyProcess

g)FurtherRecommendsthestrengtheningofregionaldialogueandcross-border

relationships,includingthestrengtheningofcapacitiesofregionalorganisations

h)Callsforthestrengtheningofstatecapacitythroughtransparentfiscaland

contractualmanagementofminingsectorrevenues;
