interrelated)technologicaldomainsthataretransformingtheintelligentindustry.

InformationTechnologies(IT)referstotheinfrastructureandcomponentsusedtocreate,process,store,transmit,andretrieveinformation.

Thisincludeshardwareandsoftwaresystems,communicationnetworks,anddatabases.Intheindustrialcontext,ITisusedtomanagebusinessinformation,likefinancialdata,humanresources,andcustomerrelationships.

OperationalTechnologies(OT)refer

tothesystemsanddevicesusedtocontrolandmonitorphysicalprocessesinindustry.Thisincludesindustrialcontrolsystems,likeSupervisoryControlandDataAcquisition(SCADA)systemsandDistributedControlSystems(DCS),aswellassensorsandactuatorsthatdirectlymonitorandcontrolphysicalprocesses.

TheIndustrialInternetofThings(IIoT)isanextensionoftheInternetofThings(IoT)concept,butspecificallyorientedtowardstheindustry.IIoTreferstothenetworkofphysicaldevices,vehicles,buildings,andotherobjectsembeddedwithsensors,software,networks,andelectronicsthatallowthemtocollectandsharedata.Intheindustrialcontext,IIoTisusedtoconnectmachinesanddevicesontheproductionfloor,allowingreal-timedatacollectionanddata-drivendecision-making.
